Athlete's Under Age 11 Wanting To Tryout?

If your athlete is under the age of 10 and still wanting to tryout for the 11u club volleyball team, you are welcome to do so! 

NATIONAL TEAMS - RED 

National teams will travel in-state and out of state (optional for 14 and under teams), as well as compete in local tournaments. This is the highest commitment of teams offered. Practices are twice a week for 2 hours. The expectation is for players to place priority on club tournaments and practices. 

*All Red Teams will start practices the week after Thanksgiving.

REGIONAL TEAMS - WHITE

Regional teams will compete in the Houston Area and 1 travel tournament within a 100-mile radius. They will end the season with a 2-day regional tournament at the G.R. Brown Convention. This is a great way to learn the game while playing competitively, but still maintaining a lower tournament commitment level. Players are able to participate in other sports and organizations while playing on a regional team, although tournament play time is affected when missing practices regularly. Practices are twice a week for 2 hours. 

*All White Teams will start practices the week after Thanksgiving.

LOCAL TEAMS - BLUE

Local teams will compete in a shorter season in the Houston area only. This is a great way to learn the game while playing competitively, but maintaining the lowest commitment level of teams offered.. Players are able to participate in other sports and organizations, although tournament play time is affected when missing practices regularly. Practices are twice a week.

*All Blue Teams will start practices the week after Thanksgiving.

Age definitions are set by the USAV and the LSR, our governing bodies. Some athletes may qualify for two different age groups, depending on DOB and grade.

Athletes are encouraged to bring a water bottle and should wear athletic shoes, knee pads, a t-shirt, and athletic shorts or spandex.

*All players will be required to pay a non-refundable tryout fee*

Tryout Process

At check-in, players will have their pictures taken. The tryout process will consist of a player evaluation performed by multiple coaches and directors. Each player will have an evaluation form completed during tryouts. Players are evaluated on skill level, coachability, attitude, effort, position, athleticism, and experience. 

Once tryouts have concluded, coaches and directors meet to go over evaluations and collectively decide on team placement for all players. We also take into consideration parents' and players' requests for travel or non-travel. When team placement is finalized, we will contact all parents by email within 24-48 hours.  The position must be accepted promptly as your decision could affect others. 

If your daughter cannot attend the tryouts, there are options to attend a make-up tryout on the registration form.  All players are highly encouraged to make the actual tryout date for accurate team placement.

All players are required to pay the non-refundable tryout fee regardless of when their evaluation is.

National, regional, and local team designation is subject to change based on the formation of the team.
