Where Are Tryouts Held?

After you register, you will receive an email with the location of the tryouts. In the event the location changes, you will be contacted at the email address you used during registration.

How Do I Register For Tryouts?

Visit our Club Information page to view dates and times for your athletes' age group. Tryout registration will remain open until the date and time of the tryout. 

If the tryout date has passed, there may still be opportunities to join a team! We do offer late tryouts and small group/individual tryouts on specific cases. If you cannot attend the regular tryout date, please contact Coach McCall at dmccall@txevolutionvbc.com. 

Which Age Group Do I Register For?

Tx Evolution VBC requires that all players tryout for their predetermined age group. In some cases, athletes might be asked to play up with a different age group. This could be for numerous reasons, but at the discretion of the Directors. If you are unsure about your athletes' correct age group, please check out the AGE TABLE on our Club Information page.

What Is The Cost Of Tryouts?

The initial tryout fee when registering is $85. This covers court time, evaluations, and coaching costs. 

At try-out check in, a deposit of $750 will be collected from the adult checking in the athlete. If the athlete is NOT placed on a team, the deposit will be fully refunded. Once acceptance of team placement is confirmed, the deposit becomes non-refundable and non-transferable. 

If you do not attend tryouts or choose to stay with another club after registering, your registration fee will be forfeited. 

Selecting The Team Level For Your Athlete

Choosing a team level at registration should be based on several factors: 

• Athlete & family dedication level towards club volleyball.
• Travel commitments for tournaments. 
• Financial investment into club volleyball. 

You may choose multiple levels that you'd like your athlete to tryout for, this does NOT mean that your athlete will need to tryout for each individual level. Athlete skill level will be assessed at their tryout and placement will be determined based on that. 

Choosing a Local or Regional team, even if your athlete's goal is to play on a National Level team, will not put her at a disadvantage. 

Athletes are placed based on skills first, and then team preferences are considered. Selecting multiple levels to be considered for at the tryouts allows the coaches to place your athlete on the team that best fits your athlete's current level of play. 

What Should I Bring to tryouts?

Upon registration, you will receive an email with information on the tryout. 

Athletes are encouraged to bring a water bottle (with a lid or able to tightly seal shut), athletic shoes, knee pages, a t-shirt and athletic shorts/spandex/tights. 

*At tryouts, parents/guardians are to bring the deposit of $750. 

When Will I Know If I MAde A Team?

After the conclusion of tryouts for your age group, you will receive an email from Tx Evolution VBC with a team placement and an invitation to accept your spot. 

To secure your spot, you must accept the offer. If you do not respond within the time specified in the email, your spot may be offered to another athlete. 

If you are not placed on a team, for whatever reason, you will still receive an email notification.
